Buttermilk Syrup

Makes 1 quart of syrup Time: 15 minutes Difficulty: Easy

Ingredients

  • 3 cups white sugar
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup light corn syrup
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 4 teaspoons vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Set a large pot over medium heat. Add all ingredients and whisk until fully mixed.
  2. Bring to a boil, cook for 3 minutes stirring continuously.
  3. Remove from heat. Serve warm with buttermilk pancakes, French toast, or waffles.
