Maple Glazed Green Beans

Maple Glazed Green Beans

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 2 12 Oz. of Bags of Frozen Green Beans
  • 12 Oz. of Package of Bacon
  • 1 Cup of Diced Onion
  • Pure Maple Syrup
  • Salt and Pepper to Taste

Steps

  1. Preheat griddle to medium heat.

  2. Slice bacon into small strips. Cook on medium heat, mixing frequently. Adjust heat as necessary making sure not to burn the bacon. If the bacon appears to be cooking too quickly, turn a burner or two to low of off. Turn burner back up as necessary. The key is to make sure the bacon cooks but doesn’t burn.

  3. Add a small amount of cooking oil to an empty part of the griddle. Cook beans, adding salt and pepper to taste. Mix frequently.

  4. At the same time, be sure to keep mixing and spreading bacon across the griddle top so it cooks quickly and evenly.

  5. Once the bacon is nearly cooked, add onions, allowing them to cook in the bacon grease.

  6. After 2 minutes, mix all ingredients together, allowing the bacon grease to flavor all ingredients.

  7. Use a clean fork to test beans. As soon as the beans are completely hot, but still have somewhat of a snap to them, drizzle with maple syrup and mix for a few seconds.

  8. Quickly remove from griddle and serve. Drizzle with additional maple syrup if desired.
